How laser hair removal works
The laser sends a pulse of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and carried down to the follicle, where the heat disables it. Hair in its active growth phase responds; hair that is resting does not, which is why treatment is a series spaced weeks apart rather than a single visit.
The Clarity II gives our provider two wavelengths. The 755 nm Alexandrite is efficient on lighter skin with dark hair. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG reaches deeper and passes more safely through darker skin. Choosing the right one for you is what makes the treatment both effective and safe.
What a session is like
Shave the area the day before. At your visit the skin is cleaned, the settings are set for you, and the handpiece moves across the area with a cooling tip. Each pulse feels like a quick snap. Underarms take minutes; full legs take longer. Afterward the skin may be pink and warm for a few hours. Sunscreen, no hot tubs that day, and back to normal.
Results and honest limits
Over the series, hair comes in thinner, slower and sparser, and most of it stops. Expect long-term reduction and the occasional touch-up, not a lifetime guarantee of zero hairs. Very light, grey or red hair has little pigment to target, so results there are limited, and we will say so before you spend a dollar.
If you are on hormone therapy with us, we can time sessions around it. See all Clarity II treatments.
